When April rolls around, the heat begins to ramp up all over India. It gets so hot that stepping outside becomes a real challenge. That’s why schools give kids a break during this time. Typically, summer holidays stretch from May to June, but the exact dates vary from state to state. While most states have already announced when their summer holidays will be, a few are still keeping us in suspense.
Rajasthan: According to the Shivira Panchang, summer holidays in Rajasthan will start from May 17th and last till June 23rd, 2024. However, these dates might change.
Delhi: Schools in Delhi will have summer holidays starting from May 11th, 2024, till June 30th, 2024, totaling 51 days.
Punjab: Government and government-aided schools in Punjab will have summer holidays from May 23rd to June 30th, 2024, spanning 39 days.
Bihar: Schools in Bihar will observe summer holidays from April 15th to May 15th, 2024, a total of 30 days.
Uttar Pradesh: Summer holidays in Uttar Pradesh schools will commence from May 21st and last till June 30th, 2024, for a duration of 41 days.
Madhya Pradesh: As per the State Education Board, summer vacations in MP schools will start from May 1st and continue till June 15th, 2024.
West Bengal: In 2024, summer holidays in West Bengal will begin from May 6th and conclude on June 2nd, totaling 22 days excluding public holidays and Sundays. Authorities have decided to advance summer holidays for schools across the state, except in Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts, starting from April 22nd due to severe heat conditions.
